A Study on Dance Education Policy for Children and Adolescents from Vulnerable Groups

Abstract

This study is aims to investigate the status and policy direction of dance education for children and adolescents from culturally vulnerable groups. Since the Support for Arts and Culture Education Act was enacted in 2005, culture and arts projects for the underprivileged have been revitalized in earnest. The goal of these policies is for all citizens to enjoy a happy and culturally fulfilling life. This study investigated the policies and specific cases of arts education for children and adolescents from the underprivileged, focusing on dance education. The research was conducted based on the relevant literature, previous research, and the researcher's experience of practicing dance education for the culturally vulnerable groups. Furthermore, among advanced overseas cases, policies, and specific examples of art education for the underprivileged in Germany, France, and the United States were discussed. Policy considerations that can be used as a reference for cultural arts education in Korea were examined through advanced cases abroad.
