Abstract

Under the COVID-19 pandemic, the fact that the bicycle boom is not just aimed at enjoying leisure or exercising shows the behavior of using shared bicycles in Korea. The purpose of this paper was to discuss ambiguous approaches to the current legislation regarding electric bicycle utilization and to provide fundamental and critical advice to help revitalize electric bicycle deployment in the future. To coagulate the sustainable electric bicycle culture, electric bicycle riders should solidify the self-purification function. Clear grounds should be provided for the use of classified bicycle paths due to the revision of unclear laws and regulations, and confusion of complex insurance and compensation systems should not be caused. Lastly, providing sufficient infrastructure is an indispensable part of electric bicycle riding in terms of environmental protection in the future.
