Electronic sport games have gained momentum and been applied to many sport contexts for marketing purposes. However, there has been little knowledge about the influence of electronic sports games. The current study approached the problem from this perspective and examined influence of electronic football games (EFG) on four different engagement with physical football (i.e., attendance, participation, viewership, and expenditure). Using the questionnaire, the study examined how people enjoy EFG and participate in traditional football engagements and eventually how playing EFG influence traditional football engagements. A total of 235 questionnaires were collected at ‘PC Rooms’ and ‘PlayStation Rooms’. In an effort to find out the influence of frequency and time of playing EFG on traditional football engagements, a regression technique was used. The results revealed that frequency of playing EFG positively influenced attendance of both K League and Korea national football team matches and also on TV viewership of K League and foreign football leagues. In addition, frequency was strong predictor of football-related merchandise consumption. Frequency of EFG, however, negatively influenced on actual football participation. On the other hands, the amount of time per each gaming did not explained any unique variance in attendance and actual football participation. However, time of EFG significantly predicted TV viewership of both K League and foreign football leagues. Lastly, expenditure of football-related merchandises was positively influenced by the amount of time of playing EFG.

The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of systematic mental skills training for a high school golfer. Based on person-centered approach, this programme was designed for a single subject who competed in the high school junior varsity level in the United States. Various mental skill training techniques such as concentration, relaxation, imagery, self-concentration, and goalsetting technique was employed for his performance enhancement. The results showed that the person-oriented approach can be an effective method for sport psychology consulting to help athletes develop their performance. This case study provides some possible guidelines for sport psychologists who may wish to provide consultancy services within high school golf.

Students in the post-secondary physical and health education teacher education (PHETE) programs are active and responsible participants in their own learning. In order to reach a deeper level of learning, students need to be fully engaged in their own learning and its outcomes. Inspiring these students, and then helping them translate that passion into proficiency in various areas in the field of physical and health education, are thus keys to the success of post-secondary PHETE programs. This viewpoint article discussed the potential contributions of community-based experiential learning (CBEL) approaches for PHETE programs as a way of promoting students’ active and responsible engagements in learning. Reflexive, transformative, and relational merits of CBEL in the context PHETE were explored.

This study investigates the material base of contemporary dance such as market, funding, and employment in western countries including U.S., France, U.K., and Germany by critically reviewing related literature. Then I reflect on the dance scene in Korea. As contemporary dance is characterized as a subsidized market in all countries examined above, my investigation uses Hillman-Chartrand & McCaughey’s four models of governmental supporting the arts. I question how contemporary dance artists work and exist in the related industry and how their work practices inform their creative activities. By exploring these questions, I attempt to suggest a close relationship between the material base of present time and dance that is contemporaneous. Considering the powerful influence of postindustrial capitalism with global impact, contemporary dance world is expected to develop depending on what kinds of stance each artist and each country take in response to it.

The purpose of this research is to explore the types and processes of dance curation, which is a job of dance curator, as a way to expand career path as a dance expert, and to establish a practical basis for the professionalization of dance curator. For this purpose, theoretical and academic discussions on curation in dance and other fields, and various practices of current curation were conducted. First, types of dance curation are classified into ‘docent type, educator type and creative type’. Second, preparation process of dance curation can be structured 8 steps model, ‘selecting, researching, focusing, sorting, organizing, performing and evaluating’. Third, the practice of dance curation is curation centered on the ‘2017 PADAF(Play Act Dance Art-Tech Film Festival)’ held in Seoul, Korea. It was conducted in the form of ‘the docent type’ and was structured in eight steps. Based on this research, I suggest the activation of theoretical and empirical research on dance curator and dance curation, the diversification and systematization of training for dance curator.
